Average Price for Sale and Average Price Sold on Whidbey Island

This graph shows both the average price of the homes for sale on Whidbey Island in any given month, and the average price sold in any given month and the relationship between the two. You’ll note that both have been decreasing for the past 15 months, with the average price sold decreasing more than the average price for sale. This is because sellers are a bit slower to adjust their prices to the range buyers are willing to tolerate, coupled with more inventory in the lower end and strong sales in the lower end helping to bring down that sales average.
